Freiburg Hosts Bayern: Bundesliga Showdown This Sunday
Match Preview: SC Freiburg vs Bayern Munich
SC Freiburg will welcome reigning champions Bayern Munich to the Europa-Park Stadion for a pivotal Matchday 7 encounter in the 2026-27 Bundesliga season on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Bayern remains unbeaten in the league and can secure the top position with a victory.
Recent Form
After a surprising 2-2 draw against FC Augsburg, Bayern bounced back emphatically with a 6-1 triumph over RB Leipzig, featuring a hat-trick from Luis Diaz alongside goals from Aleksandar Pavlovic, Michael Olise, and Harry Kane.
In their subsequent UEFA Champions League match, Bayern played to an exciting 2-2 draw against Arsenal. However, the absence of head coach Vincent Kompany, who collapsed during training and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, raises concerns for the team.
On the other hand, Freiburg enjoyed a strong start to their season, topping the table after an unbeaten streak of five matches. Unfortunately, their momentum was disrupted by a 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in their last league outing. Despite this loss, Freiburg sits in third place with 13 points, just four points shy of leaders Borussia Dortmund. They also faced a challenging 3-0 defeat against AS Monaco in the UEFA Conference League.
