WASHINGTON — In a recent incident, eight U.S. Marines were injured when an Iranian cruise missile targeted the ship they were aboard in the Strait of Hormuz, as confirmed by three U.S. officials. The attack occurred two weeks ago.

While the injuries sustained by the Marines were not life-threatening, they included smoke inhalation and potential traumatic brain injuries. Symptoms reported by the Marines included headaches consistent with concussions, according to the officials.
